Mike recently went to his fiancée’s natal home for the purpose of Ruracio, a customary payment in the Kikuyu community made by a groom or his relatives to the family of the bride in order for them to approve and bless their marriage.
It is also done to show that the man values his wife-to-be, that he is grateful for the family for handing over his daughter to them and as a compensation to her family for the ‘loss ‘of their daughter or something like that.
