I can tell you who does…broke people who have no money. “Shukisha wewe mjinga!” Liz shouted at the Conductor who had already instructed the driver to drive on when he heard us saying we wanted to get off. Abduction Nairobi style. The driver was adamant and didn’t stop until we got to Globe roundabout . That was after a heated exchange of words where if I can remember, someone-a woman I think- in the matatu said “Si uwashukishe dereva hawa ni wale Malaya wameitiwa kazi . Wacha wakaibe mabwana za wenyewe ”
OK Jesus! Nairobians are so frustrated they just jump into anything they can to help them forget about their troubles. Twenty minutes later, we were at Winkers sipping Cold Tuskers and drowning Tequilas, the matatu incident completely forgotten. Fred was with two other guys and a chic by his side. By the way I had the hots for Fred , just so you know! So, I sat there brooding jealously as Fred and the chic cuddled and made out. All these thanks to being broke. The two guys sat strategically so that one vibed Liz and the other bored me to death. I was really trying to listen to him but Fred and his chic were distracting me!
At one point, Fred who was short of change asked me for a hundred bob and promised to give it back before the end of the night. That is where all my problems began. At around 11 p. m. miss thaing’ had given Fred a hard on and the drink-till-morning- drunkard wanted to go ‘home’ (read wanted to go fuck that ugly weave off the lass) . When you have 100 hundred bob only in your pockets, believe you me its all you think about. So I remembered mine. “How about that sock,” I smiled trying to make it sound like it was nothing. “Errr…Njoro si you’ll give 500 bob tomorrow coz I don`t have change. I`ll give it back kesho,” Fred stammered eyeing the massive booty on his mama and winking at us. “No problem man,” Njoro (I know weird name) my man for the night said waving Fred off. 500 sock was good. The president was angered by the move by his security to allow someone to try to grab his hand leading an injury on him. The President who seemed to have been overruling his security is seen on a video throwing slaps at someone who is just in the midst of his closest protection personnel.
It is not clear what the President wanted but the President is seen being comforted by his deputy as he dismisses the staffer. Sources within the President’s protection unit however say that President Uhuru wanted the security to allow the man to greet him but the security were adamant that it was risky.

Ichuni Girls principal from Kisii County is accused of confining students to cells she set up in the school. Some of her student victims claim to have been detained for days without a bath and with only breakfast and super a day.
A parent with a child at St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls Secondary School said that students who fell foul with the headteacher were locked up in the cells, sometimes for up to two weeks.
One of the cells has been named “Higher Chamber” and is used to detain girls who have committed offences deemed to be serious, such as failing examinations or buying sweets from across the school fence.
“Here, students can be stripped and water poured on the ground with the students being forced to sleep on the ground,” said the parent who requested not to be identified to save her child from victimisation.
“My daughter, who has undergone the inhumane treatment in the cells, tells me that they were being provided with meals twice a day; breakfast at 9am and dinner at 10pm.”
Up to nine students, the parent said, were being forced to share a mattress, meaning that those who failed to find space would sleep on the cold floor overnight.
“They are not allowed to shower,” the father said. “They are not allowed to go out except once at 10pm for long calls and then they are herded back.”
According to her, the “offenders” use paint cans the rest of the time.
In one instance, a student in detention developed an asthmatic attack.
“Those inside the cell had to bang the door forcing the night guard to intervene,” he said.
After the students have served time, their parents are required to send six bags of cement to the school as part of the punishment.

Staff fought their way into the school's computer room and pulled the 'distressed and terrified' teacher to safety.
The teenager, who admitted séxual assault and was sentenced to four years’ youth detention, had put his hand up her skirt and forced himself on her.
Prosecutor Karl Scholz told Mold Crown Court: 'The teacher and the boy were in the classroom when he closed the door and snapped the latch shut.
'He told her he had things on his mind and took hold of her and hugged her.
'She managed to get away and wanted to leave the room but realised the door was locked.
'The schoolboy then put his hand up the teacher’s skirt and carried out a serious séxual assault on her.'
Mr Scholz said staff outside could hear their colleague scream and the boy laughing.
When they eventually got in the teacher was 'very distressed' and had a 'terrified' expression on her face.
Mold Crown Court court was told the teacher had been unable to return to work since the horrific school séx attack at the 700-pupil high school in North Wales.
