Word on the streets is that the flamboyant and philanthropic Nairobi senator has actually gone broke .He allegedly was chased out of his Runda home after he had failed to pay rent for many months running to millions of shillings.
The Sonko Rescue Team chairman Swaleh Owino has led a group of 20 youths to protest against Senator Mike Sonko over what they claim to be unpaid allowances.
Swaleh accused the Senator of taking all the credit of their work while they languish after going for months without pay.
The youth further asked him to collect his overalls and a Toyota Premio at Makongeni police station where they decided to take them as a result of being angry.
But in a quick rejoinder, the flamboyant Senator refuted the claims saying that Swaleh was a disgruntled employee whom he had fired.
Sonko added that the chairman was an arrogant misbehaving individual who had a case with the police and had on one occasion hit another lady’s car and sent her just Ksh 1,500 for damages.
He further accused the Chairman of being used by a former political ally, now a political nemesis, to tarnish his name even as the 2017 poll draws closer.
Sonko Rescue Team is an initiative by Nairobi County senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and designed to enhance service delivery to the residents of Nairobi City County.
