However, what was more captivating was the one by Commander-in-Chief of Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) and President, Uhuru Kenyatta, who was caught off-guard by the media.
Uhuru was captured on camera singing along with Sauti Sol as they entertained thousands of Kenyans and dignitaries who flocked Nyayo Stadium to celebrate Kenya at 51.
Uhuru was so engrossed in Sauti Sol’s hit song Sura Yako and showed his mastery of the song by singing all the lyrics word by word as though he had practiced to the amazement of those around him.
However, he was reminded by a secret pinch that he was still the Head of State and the Commander-in Chief by General Julius Karangi, who was sitting next to him before he realized he was completely absent minded and didn’t know what he was doing.
That stunt by Uhuru left everyone in stitches, including his wife Margaret, as one could not fathom the fact that a whole President was singing Sura Yako in front of dignitaries and Kenyans, and only proved he might have missed his youth.
In more than one occasion, Uhuru has confessed that Sauti Sol is one of his favourite music groups in Kenya. Watch the video below
