Kenyans continue to mourn the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s eldest son, Fidel Odinga, questions though ringer in their minds on what could have caused his sudden death and so details have continued to emerge of what led to his death on Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports from Fidel Odinga’s close family friends, Fidel died of food poisoning.
His friend Tom Alila, who is a former Kenya Football Federation (KFF) official, also said that they were with Fidel last Friday at a local pub in a Nairobi and he complained of mild stomach ache.
Alila said Fidel turned down an offer for drinks from a friend last Friday shortly after having lunch with eight friends in Nairobi, saying he was recovering from food poisoning.
Thereafter, Fidel went on a night out in Westlands on Saturday and was pronounced dead on Sunday at his residence at Bel Air Country Homes, Karen moments after coming back.
He had been driven home by Smart Fellows taxi driver in his Range Rover, KCA 026 V from Sankara Hotel, Westlands at about 4 am.
