The former Kabete legislature Late George Muchai was a renowned trade unionist that has been the Deputy secretary general under Atwoli. He was ousted late last year at a COTU meeting in Baringo's Lake Bogoria Spa Resort after he became too noisy. The trade unionist-cum-politician, who was known for vigour and energy, at the union fought back and accused Atwoli of being behind the loss of billions of shillings in the union.
Muchai also exposed Atwoli’s dirty dealings including having 14 accounts in Kenya and abroad, sleeping with Nairobi University girls and going to foreign trips with women using the trade union’s money.
Before he met his death, Muchai had allegedly prepared a dossier that will have exposed senior COTU officials on how they have plundered money in the last 12 years they have been office.
“The dossier will have exposed how money had been plundered in the giant trade union and how COTU has been using University students to pass their personal agendas,” an MP who requested anonymity said on Tuesday at Parliament buildings.
It is not clear whether the assassins were interested with the dossier since they escaped with his briefcase after killing him.
