US President Barrack Obama is expected in Kenya in July where he will
attend a Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi under the invitation of his
host, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Over 200 Secret Service agents have already
arrived in the country and two armoured vehicles brought ahead of Obama’s visit
to his father’s land.
But what could be interpreted as an insult
Kenyans, the US President will only spend 8 hours in Kenya and he will only
meet President Kenyatta, his Deputy, William Ruto, and his grandmother, Mama
Sarah Obama.
Infact, Obama will meet his
grandmother at State House, Nairobi, before he heads to the Summit at the UN
headquarters in Gigiri.
“The US President will only spend 8
hours in Kenya,” a source at the US Embassy in Nairobi said.
From State House, the US President
will head to Gigiri, Nairobi, accompanied by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He is expected to travel within
Nairobi in his own ultra-secure armoured Cadillac Limousine called the “Beast.”
His security handlers shave insisted
that their President travels in his own official vehicle and only the US President
can change that decision.
Sources said the US President and
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta will travel in the same car from State House
to the US Embassy in Gigiri.
